I am forever inspired by the resiliency and unbridled curiosity of children. I believe in the power of being grounded and present to witness and encourage healing while celebrating the innate capacity for growth and change.
I hope that through my blog you will find some inspiration on diverse experiences to offer opportunities for expression for children, teens, and adults in your lives!
I work as a behavioral health therapist in Cincinnati, Ohio and have experience in school, outpatient, and home based settings.
I also have a passion for drawing and writing and have written two social emotional picture books for children. Buttons the Brave Blue Kitten is a story that promotes emotional literacy and empathy through a story of separation anxiety. It teaches the power of attunement with caring adults and the use of loving rituals. I also hope this book helps children realize their own internal strengths and how these can help others. https://www.amazon.com/Buttons-Brave-Kitten-Kristina-Sargent/dp/1493104233 and
Ursula Unwinds Her Anger is a story that teaches mindfulness through emotional awareness, breathing, imaginary skills, and social skills such as assertiveness. I hope this book helps children feel grounded in the present and grounded in the acceptance of who they are as individuals that make this world an all around the more beautiful place. https://www.amazon.com/Ursula-Unwinds-Kristina-Marcelli-Sargent/dp/1499073003
